The seven "days" of creation, as recorded in Genesis chapters 1 through to 2.6, is here based on the "day for a year " principle of biblical interpretation. On the other hand, the seven days of creation may have been seven great "Ages" of thousands of years throughout the span of time.

The Irish theologian James Ussher reckoned the date of creation to be from the 23rd October 4004 BC. Throughout this chronology, it has been assumed that the SAROS and METONIC cycles began from the year 0 AM or 4000 BC - the year that Adam was "formed" (see eighth day below). It may be that the solar and lunar seasonal counts should begin from 4004-3 BC, the "day/year" they were created. Throughout this study, this could be considered important, especially when correlating such things as eclipses and other astronomical events with the events recorded in the Bible, e.g. Joshua when the "sun stood still", and periods of darkness over the land such as at the time of the crucifixion and so on.

God formed (yasar) ADAM (first generation and patriach of the Adamic peoples) of the dust of the ground (dama) and uniquely breathed into his nostrils the breath of life (nismat hayyim) (Genesis 2.4-20). The result of this was that "the man" became a living being (nepes hayya). Because Adam was not mentioned in chapter 1 of Genesis, but appeared on the scene in chapter 2 of Genesis, I have assumed that Adam was "formed" on the eighth day, that is, after the seventh day of rest as recorded at the end of Genesis 1. Sumerian and Babylonian myths about the creation of man are known also, but compared with the creation narrative in the Bible, some think that they are crude and polytheistic.

According to Persian, Chinese and Indian traditions, the Garden of Eden may have been located around the Pamir Plateau, northwest of Tibet. God brought all the animals and birds to Adam for him to give them names, and presumably in the process, to familiarise himself with their charascteristics and potentialities (Genesis 2.19-20). It is possible that some reflection of this is to be found in a Sumerian literary text which describes how the god Enki set the world in order, and among other things put the animals under the control of two minor deities. EVE was formed from Adam's rib (Genesis 2.21-25). The Book of Jubilees says "In the first week of the first Jubilee Adam and his wife (Eve) were in the garden of Eden seven years working and watching it." (A Jubilee is fifty years.)

4000-3000 BC in England, the Neolithic period began. Farming was introduced from north-west Europe. Large hilltop enclosures (causewayed camps) were built (the Windmill Hill culture). Long barrows, containing multiple burials as well as animal bones and domestic debris, grouped near enclosures. Flint was being mined then, and plain pottery was made. For food, wheat was grown. Adam and Eve completed the first seven years of the Jubilee working in, and watching over, the Garden of Eden. About two and a half thousand years after Adam was "formed", God gave Moses and the Israelites a system of Sabbatic and Jubilee laws as a code for living and working the soil (Leviticus 25.1-7). Throughout this chronology, an assumption is made that in God's relationship with Adam, there was an unwritten law between God and Adam, similar to the law as it was given to Moses. So this seventh year of Adam's life in the garden with Eve would be regarded as the end of the first Sabbatic Week of seven years. During this year there would be no sowing and reaping of crops grown from the soil. The land rests; it is not worked. End of first Sabbatic Week of Years - No sow, no reap in this year.

Recorded in the Book of Jubilees, it seems that in this year, the eighth year, in the seventeenth day, in the second month, the serpent came and approached Eve. After the "fall", apparently God "closed the mouth of all the animals, beasts and birds (etc.) so that they could not speak". Adam and Eve were sent out of the garden (eastwards according to the Bible), at the new moon of the fourth month (in the eighth year). The Bible records the events of the FALL in Genesis 3, but there is no exact time frame given as to the actual date of the FALL of Adam and Eve, as it is given in the Book of Jubilees.

The Book of Jubilees says that "in the third week of the second Jubilee, Eve gave birth to CAIN" - 2nd generation of the Adamic peoples. The "third week" may be "the third week of years", that is between 65AM and 71AM (50+7+7+1 thru 7). The Bible record, Genesis 4.1 says "And Adam knew his wife, and she conceived, and bare Cain, and said, I have gotten a man from the Lord." The record of Cain and his descendants is recorded in Genesis 4.1-24, and that chapter also records the birth of ABEL, Cain's brother (though, again, no calculable date is given. Because the Book of Jubilees says that CAIN was born in the third week of the second Jubilee, and that ABEL was born in the fourth week of the second Jubilee, there being only "one week" between their birth dates, then one can assume that "one week" is a period of one Sabbatic Week (i.e. 7 years). The age difference between CAIN and ABEL was seven years. Perhaps it would be stretching the imagination too far to assume that because the Bible gives the number of man as "666" (in the book of Revelation of the New Testament), that CAIN might have been born during the year 66 AM.

SETH born - 2nd generation of the Adamic peoples, and it was through Seth's line that the bible history and blessings of these people is recorded (Adam now aged 130 years). Genesis 4.25; Genesis 5.3. The Septguant says that Adam was 230 years old when Seth was born. As a matter of interest and comparison, the Sumerian King List names Alulim as the first pre-flood King, and he was given a reign of 28,800 years (a variant text gives 67,200 years) and his counterpart, Aloros, in Berossos' Babyloniaka, is credited with 36,000 years.

The Book of Jubilees differs from the Bible, in that it says that Seth was born in the fourth year of the fifth week of the third Jubilee, which would be (50+50+7+7+7+7+4 = 132). Note that if the Jewish system of counting 49 years to the Jubilee period, then the calculation from the Book of Jubilees would be (49+49+7+7+7+7+4 = 130). This would therefore agree with the Biblical record for the age of Adam when Seth was born.
