The following extract is from "Today, Tomorrow and the Great Beyond" by John S. Fox. "Jesus Christ, born in the year 3996 AM (6 x 666), began His ministry in the year 4026 AM, and was crucified in the month of Nisan, the first sacred month, or seventh civil month of the year 4029 AM (or 4029.5 AM). "The actual day of the week of the Crucifixion is not easy to ascertain. If our Lord Jesus had been crucified on a Friday He could not have been 'three days and three nights' in the grave, as indicated in Matthew 12.40. With regard to this, Professor C.A.L. Totten (USA) states:
"Since the correct Passover day is the fourteenth day of the first (sacred) month (Leviticus 23.5 & Exodus 12.6), followed by the Holy convocation on the fifteenth day (Letivituc 23.6-7), it would appear that Professor Totten is probably correct ..." Good Friday, therefore would be Thursday 14th Nisan 4029.5 AM." |

NOTE: From hereon in, through the next decade or two, any reference to the place called "Glastonbury" in England, with regard to Joseph of Arimathea, Mary the mother of Jesus, and the twelve disciples, may actually be the place in Wales called "Glastennen", as revealed by the author Adrian Gilbert. Enc. Britannica - " In Plutarch's dialogue concerning the features of the Moon's disk, one of the characters, named Lucius, deduces from the phases of the Moon and the phenomenon of eclipses a similarity between the Earth and the Moon and illustrates his argument by means of a recent eclipse of the Sun,
"This eclipse has been identified with one that occurred on 20th March 71 AD, which was total in Greece. Whether Plutarch is describing a real, and therefore datable, event or is merely basing his description on accounts written by earlier authors has been disputed, however. Later in the same dialogue, Lucius refers to a brightness that appears around the Moon's rim in total eclipses of the Sun. This is one of the earliest known allusions to the solar corona. Plutarch was unusually interested in eclipses, and his "Parallel Lives", an account of the deeds and character of illustrious Greeks and Romans, contains many references to both lunar and solar eclipses of considerable historical importance. There also are frequent records of eclipses in other ancient Greek literature." |

Enc. Britannica - In China "the Hou-Han shu (History of the Later Han Dynasty) contains the following account under a year corresponding to AD 119-120:
"The date of this eclipse on the Chinese calendar is equivalent to 18th January AD 120. On this exact day there had occurred an eclipse of the Sun that was very large in China. Such chronological precision is typical of almost all Chinese records of celestial phenomena. The above-cited text is particularly interesting because it clearly describes an obscuration of the Sun, which, though causing dusk conditions, was not quite total where it was seen. The place of observation was probably Lo-yang, the Chinese capital of the time. With regard to the accompanying prognostication, it should be pointed out that a delay of two or three years between the occurrence of a celestial omen and its presumed fulfillment is quite typical of chinese astrology." |

In the Roman Empire, there was ten years of persecution (303-313 AD) under Diocletian who in 303 AD, issued an edict decreeing the destruction of all Christian churches. Then followed terrible persecution lasting ten years until Constantine's accession to power in 313 AD. |

From 395 AD onwards, Western Rome came under the rule of the Emperor
Honorius; and Eastern Rome came under the rule of the Emperor Arcadius (on
17th January 395 AD) from whom its name "Arcadia" originated.
The Eastern half of Rome broke all allegiance to its previous ruling centre, the city of Rome in the West. Western Rome became divided further at a much later date (476 AD), nearly a century after the split into the two halves in 395 AD. |

Enc. Britannica - " Hydatius, bishop of Chaves (in Portugal), was one of the few known chroniclers of the early Middle Ages. He seems to have had an unusual interest in eclipses, and he recounted the occurrence of five such events (involving both the Sun and the Moon) between 447 AD and 464 AD. In each case, only brief details are given, and Hydatius gives the years of occurrence in terms of the Olympiads (i.e. reckoning time from the first Olympic Games, in 776 BC). During the total lunar eclipe of 2nd March 462 AD (this date is known to be accurate), the Moon is said to have been 'turned into blood'. Statements of this kind are common throughout the Middle Ages, presumably inspired by the Old Testament allusion in Joel 2.31. Similar descriptions, however, are occasionally found in non-Christian sources as, for example, a Chinese one of 498 AD." |
