The coronation stone (also known as Jacob's pillar) was taken from Ireland to Scotland by Feargus the Great. The Scots call it "Lea Gael". Ezekiel prophesied (Ezekiel 21.27) that the stone would be "overturned" three times, and that it was not to be overturned again until He (Jesus Christ) comes whose right it is to rule on that throne. The first overturning, was when Jeremiah took the stone with Zedekiah's daughters to Ireland about 582 BC. This is the second overturning of that stone. It remains in Scotland for about 800 years until it is removed again to England in the year 1296 AD. METONIC CYCLE NO. 237 = 4502.9 years |

Emperor Justinian decreed the Bishop of Rome as head of the churches. His power, however, was then limited to the regulation of religious affairs only, but, as time passed, the authority of Popes reached such proportions that they finally emerged in temporal power as well as religious power over the whole of Western Europe. |

Mohamet rises to power in the Eastern section of the two halves of the old Roman Empire. The Mohammedans thereafter claimed their particular faith as the one and only true religion, all dissenters at that time and subsequently being killed by the sword. Mohamet's flight from Mecca. The Mohammedan calendar, known as the "Hegira", starts from this date, reckoning in lunar years, not solar years. (The 1335th lunar year on the Mohammedan calendar is equivalent to our Christian solar year of 1917 AD.) On the other hand, the rise of the Papacy in the Western section of the old Roman Empire from 606 AD, also claimed to hold the only true religion, all those protesting against it being slain mercilessly at the stake and elsewhere. Fox's "Book of Martyrs" and many other historical works give gruesome details of its terrible deeds. |

In 627 AD, the Roman Emperor Heraclitus invaded Assyria and Mesopotamia, and defeated the Persians near Nineveh, the Prophet Mahomet harassed the Meccans from Medina, and the Japanese despatched envoys to China. In 627 AD, the English ruler of East Anglia, REDWALD died, and ERPWALD succeeded as ruler. At this time EDBALD was ruler in Kent, PENDA was ruler in Mercia, ETHELFRITH was ruler in Northumbria, EDWIN ruled in northumbria, and CERDIC ruled in Wessex. Paulinus brought to Northumbria by K. Edwin's Kentish consort, baptises Edwin at York, becomes Archbishop of York, primate of England, and converts Northumbria and kingdom of Lindsey (centred on Lincoln). Honorius becomes Archbishop of Canterbury, primate of all England. St. Peters School was founded at York, England. There were no more schools founded for about 300 years when a school was founded at Warwick, England in 914 AD. |

Enc. Britannica - "Given below is a selection from the vast number of extant medieval European reports of eclipses. In many cases, the date is accurately recorded, but there also are frequent instances of chronological error. |
"An occultation of a bright star by the eclipsed Moon in AD 756 (actually the previous year) is the subject of an entry in the chronicle of Simeon of Durham, compiled some four centuries after the event:
"The text gives no hint of the identity of the star. Modern computations show that the Moon was totally eclipsed on the evening of November 23, AD 755. During the closing stages of the eclipse, Jupiter would have been occulted by the Moon, as seen from England. this is an example of the care with which an observer who was not an astronomer could describe a compound astronomical event without having any real understanding of what was happening." |

Enc. Britannica - "By far the most vivid account (of an eclipse in Byzantine history ) relates to the solar eclipse of 22nd December 968 AD. This was penned by the contemporary chronicler Leo the Deacon:
"This is the earliest account of the solar corona that can be definitely linked to a datable eclipse. Although the appearance of the corona during totality is rather impressive, early descriptions of it are extremely rare. Possibly many ancient and medieval eyewitnesses were so terrified by the onset of sudden darkness that they failed to notice that the darkened Sun was surrounded by a diffuse envelope of light." |
