Jesus Christ came to fulfil the law |
From God to Moses at Mt Sinai |
| Jesus said: "Think not that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets; I am not come to destroy, but to fulfil. For verily I say unto you, Till heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law, till all be fulfilled ... (Matthew 5.17-18) | Moses ascended the mount seven times to hear God's Word. Perhaps the greatest of those conversations were those relating to God giving the Law, and His instructions to set up the Tabernacle. Details can be found in the Bible from Exodus Chapters 19 through to the end of that book. |

| 1512 BC - Moses reads the Law to the nation then dies,
aged 120. Israel crosses Jordan under Joshua (aged 32). GILGAL (meaning "circle") - Joshua sets up 12 stones. Saros and Metonic Cycles are in same year (1512-11 BC) Last time both cycles were in the same year was 360 years previously (in 1872 BC). There follows five years of war with the Canaanites till
| 1508-07 BC - "the sun stood still" **See comment immediately below. | |||||
| 1501-0 BC - Battle of Jericho? First Jubilee since Tabernacle erected.Joshua aged 108 talks to nation. | |||||
| 1486 BC - Lands settled by "lot". This could mark the official end of the Exodus period from 1552 BC to 1486 BC - a total of 66 years (i.e. the promise of land to Abraham and his descendants was fulfilled by this act of settlement) | |||||
| Comment: ** If the the "sun stood still" in 1512-11 BC, then the five year Canaanite war may have ended then. In which case the events between 4000 BC through to 1508-1507 BC in this chronology may need to be set back four years to begin at about 4004 BC through to 1512-1511 BC. Or, maybe the estimation of the time of the birth of Abram may need to be adjusted by about four years. This record of "the sun stood still" may have actually occurred during the year 1512-1511 BC when both the Saros and Metonic cycles occurred in the same year, and may be a very important biblical clue to "the process of time" throughout history as indicated by an astronomical sign. Such an adjustment as this could place the Exodus not in 1552 BC, but in 1556 BC. |

| ** Comment - "A time" in the bible is 360 days or (on the day for a year principle of prophecy) 360 years. Exodus 1552 BC plus 360 years = 1192 BC. A time-check cross-reference is given in Judges 11.26 - "While Israel dwelt in Heshbon and her towns, and in Aroer and her towns, and in all the cities that be along the coasts of Arnon, three hundred years? why therefore did ye not recover them within that time?". Heshbon was one of the last stopping places before the Israelites crossed the Jordan and entered into the land of Canaan. The battle took place not long before the crossing. When the lands were settled by "lot" in 1486 BC under Joshua, this part of the land was given to Jacob's son Reuben. Another 300 years after the land settlement of 1486 BC, brings the timeline to 1186 BC. So the date of the Philistine/Amonite oppression at about 1194 BC to 1192 BC gives solidarity to this timeline to within eight years. These two cross-references provide a double witness to bible scripture's chronological record. |

Boards 14 to 16 represent the period of the PROPHETS ...
| Number "1111" = "My Name" Panels 5 and 6 of linen curtain joined @ 440" Panels 6 and 7 of goat curtain joined @ 440/528" The first five panels of the linen curtain end here, as does the first six panels of the goats' hair curtain finish here too (the first two panels of the goats' hair curtain were doubled to provide extra thickness and strength to the tent covering). HERE, the fifty golden TACHES or BUCKLES join the two sets of five-panelled curtains. The PILLARS which hold the VAIL are placed here under the taches, 440 inches from the entrance to the Tabernacle, which is also two-thirds of the 660" length of the tabernacle. The VAIL separates the "The Most Holy Place" on the west side of the curtain, from "The Holy Place on the east side of the curtain. From the Exodus and the raising of the Tabernacle to this time the people were led by God and his servants Moses and the Judges of Israel. This time is represented by The Holy Place, before the Vail of the Tabernacle. On the other side of the Vail which we are about to enter - The MOST HOLY Place - we see the people of the nation being led by Samuel and the Prophets, and the anointed Kings of Israel, to the Babylonian captivity, the Fall of Jerusalem, and on to the last recorded event in the Bible, 396 BC. On exiting the Most Holy Place and re-entering the Holy Place, there is no Bible history record of the period thereafter to the Birth of the Lord Jesus Christ. But the prophetic length of the boards point to the Death and Resurrection of Jesus Christ. ** See comment immediately below. | |||||
| 1107 BC - Judge Eli's 40th year as judge in Israel. The Ark of the Covenant is stolen. Judge Eli, who is now an old man of 98 years, falls from his chair with shock, hurts himself severely, and dies. The Ark will be missing from Israel and the Tabernacle for 20 years and seven months (1 Sam 6.1 and 1 Sam 7.2). | |||||
1102 BC - Year 1 of SAMUEL THE PROPHET in Israel. Time check cross-reference - Acts 13.20 says that Samuel the Prophet was "450 years after the Exodus". 1552 BC plus 450 years = 1102 BC. There is more trouble with the Philistines. The word of Samuel came to all Israel (1 Sam 4.1) and Samuel judged Israel at Mizpah. The Philistines are finally subdued till Saul's reign as the first king in Israel.
| ** Comment - If this chronological work is put back to a beginning at 4004 BC instead of 4000 BC, then we would see the Ark of the Covenant (and probably its contents) stolen, and the death of Eli at 1111 BC, not 1107 BC as derived in this study. This is quite incredible, in that the period of the Judges would end, and the period of the Prophets and Kings begin, exactly at the architectural position of the Vail which divided The Holy Place from the MOST HOLY Place (which housed the Ark of the Covenant) within the Tabernacle. We noted earlier at the time of Joshua when "the sun stood still", another 4-year period which may indicate the need to reconsider a 4004 BC Adamic beginning. |

The end of the second ten boards (i.e. 20 boards) is the whole 660 inch length of north wall. The curtains, 880 inches long, cover the ceiling from front to back for 660 inches. From here, the remaining 220 inches of curtain hangs/drops from ceiling top to floor level bottom of the west wall boards. For interest, as far as prophetic time measure is concerned (one inch = one year equivalent) we will include this 220 inches as we move along the west wall from a north to south direction. (The whole west wall is covered with curtain) The next eight boards are the West Wall of the Tabernacle. They are made from a total of ten boards, the two end boards being "coupled together" for extra strength, so that the ten boards make a total of eight boards. We now proceed along the West Wall moving from the northern end, towards the southern end. Note that some of the regnal periods are co-rex - especially where there are three kings reigning in any one year. |
