It is very tempting at this point, to enlarge further on the heavenly and astronomical viewpoints of interpreting the chapter of Revelation, but we must try to stay at this point with our theme of Measuring the Temple, and return to the Tabernacle of Moses, which was the first detailed record in the Bible of a temple built under God's instruction. The symbolic content of Revelation cannot be understood without constant reference to the complete writings of God's Word in the Bible. In this way the chapter of Revelation is unique of all the Bible's 66 books. We cannot understand this book without reference to both the Old and New Testaments - the times before and after Jesus Christ's first advent, death and resurrection. We must look to the beginning, the end, and the centre of the Bible as well. Many prophetic students have interpreted the prophecies of Revelation up to the 2520 year period ending in 1917 AD, and that we are in the last phase of these prophecies. I believe that in the last 22 years of this 6000 year Adamic Age, the period 1979 to 2001 AD we are seeing, and will continue see a repetition of similar events of past prophecies fulfilled, perhaps in a literal sense as well as a symbolic sense - over a short, concentrated period of time - a grand finale, a kind of summary of the past history of mankind. Maybe this will become evident as we interrelate the Bible and its numeric significance, with the designs of the Tabernacle of Moses, the Pyramid, the pattern of the heavens, and have a look at world events both historic and current. In the Bible (2 Peter 3.8) it says that " ... one day is with the Lord as a thousand years, and a thousand years are as one day." Psalm 90.4 also says "For a thousand years in thy sight are but as yesterday when it is past, and as a watch in the night." Apply this principle to six thousand years, then we are at the close of a sixth day in God's sight. We are about to begin a seventh day of God's Great Week of seven thousand years. In God's Creation Week, he rested on the seventh day. Can He rest again on this seventh day now approaching since the creation and fall from Grace of Adam? Will He rest while Jesus takes the throne of His father David to rule the nations of the world during the next thousand years, or great day? If the throne of the House of David still exists, as it was promised that it would exist for ever, and that throne is Jesus' inheritance, then it is under threat from the behaviour of mankind today, as far as its continuance is concerned. Is it coincidence that at the end of the 6000 year Age, the earthly monarch on the British throne is a woman, and the last verse of Revelation 12 reads "And the dragon was wroth with the woman (12-tribed Israel), and went to make war with the remnant of her seed, which keep the commandments of God, and have the testimony of Jesus Christ". Queen Elizabeth's throne and her "seed" or family, both personal and national, are under threat in the world today as the traditional Christian principles of old are under attack from media, press, and modern institutions such as the Treaty of Rome, the Ecumenical Instrument instituted in 1990, and the emergence of the threatening "New World Order" of world government and the Single European Market. Not to mention the increasing desire of many people for a Republic to replace the monarchical system. |

| Satan is playing havoc on earth as his days' are short, and people everywhere, including the members of the Royal House of David are succumbing to his persuasive ways. The state of the world today and the behaviour of mankind clearly shows that man is not capable of letting God rest because man is fast approaching a situation where he is capable of destroying both himself and God's other creative works. While we may feel disheartened occasionally at the threatening world around us, we should rejoice in the Word of God - for here it is, just as John of Revelation and the other prophets of the Bible predicted it would be. We realise that it is in the hope and help of Jesus Christ and His rule that man's future for survival lies, and this day seems to be very near. The end of the Adamic Age (pyramid dating) is September 2001 AD. As we study further, many dates and time measures will emerge to support these thoughts about these last days of Bible prophecy. |
Here too, we need to take heed of God's warning. It is easy to be unduly influenced and misinterpret the true meaning of God's word. Indeed, in the last chapter of Revelation, the 22nd chapter, there is a warning which reads:
"For I testify unto every man that heareth the words of the prophecy of this book, If any man shall add unto these things, God shall add unto him the plagues that are written in this book. And if any man shall take away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God shall take away his part out of the book of life, and out of the holy city, and from the things which are written in this book. He which testifieth these things saith, Surely I come quickly. Amen. Even so, come, Lord Jesus." |
And so these are very humbling words, and we have to be so very careful in these matters of interpretation of symbolism and prophecy. The responsibility is a little bit frightening - we must keep our minds on God and His Word in all things. We will continue now, by starting with the centre of Revelation - chapter 11 - and follow the instruction of verses 1 and 2 of that chapter. We will only measure the temple and the altar of the tabernacle itself; try to determine where the veil divided the temple into two sections, and have a look at the relevance of the measurements of the curtains over the tabernacle. Maybe have a look at some of the furniture within the tabernacle as well. We will leave out the measurements of the outer court of the tabernacle because Revelation 11.1-2 says
"And there was given me a reed like unto a rod: and the angel stood, saying, Rise, and measure the temple of God, and the altar, and them that worship therein. But the outer court which is without the temple leave out, and measure it not: for it is given unto the Gentiles: and the holy city they shall tread under foot forty and two months." |
This concludes our rather lengthy "Introduction", and I hope that we will come up with some exciting measurements of the Tabernacle of Moses in relation to the book of Revelation, as we proceed with the next section.
